Noises Off Auditions

Audition Times

Sunday, February 2 @ 6PM
Monday, February 3 @ 6PM

Callbacks, if needed, will take place in the evening on Tuesday, February 4.

Performers should plan to arrive at the start of the audition time. Please contact [email protected] if you cannot be there at the top of the audition time.

Actors will be notified if they are needed for callbacks. If you are not called back, it does not mean you are not being considered for a role.

Location:

Auditions will be held at The Grand Opera House, 135 W 8th Street.

Performances

March 28 & 29 and April 4 & 5 – 7:30pm
March 30 and April 6 – 2pm

This production is open to adult actors, 18 and older.

Full Company rehearsals will begin tentatively February 17. Rehearsals will typically be held Monday-Friday evenings from 6-9pm.

Dress/Technical/Brush-Up Rehearsals March 24-27 and April 3. Availability for dress/technical rehearsals and all performances is mandatory.

Detailed Rehearsal schedules will be made available upon the completion of casting.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Digital audition form. Fill this out prior to your arrival by clicking the button below to save time at auditions. Those auditioning should be prepared to list all conflict or potential conflicts between Monday, February 17, 2025 and Sunday, March 23, 2025.
  • Actors will be asked to read from a selection of short sides that will be provided during auditions.

Alternate Audition and Video Submissions:
Actors unable to attend auditions may submit an audition video to [email protected].  Video submissions should contain a 1-minute comedic monologue. All video submissions need to be received by Monday, February 3, 2025.

CASTING INFORMATION:

The creative team seeks a diverse company of adult actors, 18 and older. Actors of all ethnicities will be equally considered for all roles and actors of color are encouraged to audition. All roles are open. The cast of Noises Off is performing a play called Nothing On, and as such, several of the roles listed have both an on and off stage persona.

Dotty Otley/Mrs. Clackett (female-identified, any ethnicity) – Late Middle-Age

Grande Dame. Forgetful. Has a relationship with Garry and teases him by showing interest in Freddy.

Slow but hospitable, old-fashioned housekeeper to the Brents.

Garry Lejeune (male-identified, any ethnicity) – 30s

Leading man type, who never finishes a sentence. Temperamental. Romantically interested in Dotty and attacks Freddy in his jealousy.

Estate agent engaged to let the Brent’s house.

Brooke Aston/Vicki (female-identified, any ethnicity) – 20s

Inexperienced actress from London, who pays no attention to anyone, rarely takes direction and persists in role despite interruptions. Always losing her contact lenses. Part of the Lloyd-Poppy-Brooke love triangle.

Works for the tax authorities and trying to woo Roger.

Lloyd Dallas (male-identified, any ethnicity) – Middle-Aged

Director of the play-within-a-play. Part of the love triangle with Poppy & Brooke. Soon to be directing Richard III.

Freddy Fellowes/Philip Brent/Sheikh (male-identified, any ethnicity) – 40s

Serious fear of violence and blood.  Lacks confidence and is rather dim and pompous.

Writer who spends time abroad. Married to Flavia.

Interested in renting the house.

Belinda Blair/Flavia Brent (female-identified, any ethnicity) – 30s

Cheerful and sensible. Perhaps a bit oversentimental at times. Has a protective attitude towards Freddy.

Philip’s wife. Not a housewife. Glamorous?

Poppy Norton-Taylor (female-identified, any ethnicity)

Assistant Stage Manager.  Emotion, over-sensitive and envious of Brooke, whom she understudies. Part of the Lloyd & Brooke love triangle.

Selsdon Mowbray/Burgler (male-identified, any ethnicity) – Elderly

Mannered, alcoholic actor.

Old man who breaks into the Brent’s house.

Timothy Allgood (male-identified, any ethnicity)

Over-worked Stage Manager. Understudies both Selsdon and Freddy.
